ADA

Compliance Statement

Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990

It is our goal to fully meet or exceed the intent of the ADA of 1990.   Some exceptions are provided for buildings and facilities that were constructed prior to the passage of the ADA in 1990, so long as reasonable efforts are made to accommodate for the people with special needs.

 Accommodations:

1)   A wheel chair ramp and an extra wide parking space are provided immediately in front of the entrance.

2) “Lever style” door knobs are present on all public access doors within the building.

3)  Clerical tasks and financial transactions will be performed in the exam room or in the reception area for any or all customers using a wheel chair, walker, or demonstrating evident weakness or less than an average ability to stand at a counter.

4)  Where indicated, clinic staff will greet or meet customers at the car to walk in or carry in the pet(s).   The same will be provided in return upon completion of services.

5)   Where indicated and staffing conditions permit, “house calls” may be made by veterinarians to accommodate the “home bound” clients.

6)  While not be “handicapped” per se, parents with small children in their care should be provided accommodations as well.

This is only a partial list of the things our staff should be doing to live up to the intent of the ADA  and the Golden Rule.   If there is something that we can do to better serve you and your pet, please let us know.
